My shichi sheds alot so I had her hair cut very short and that helped now we can carry her without having hair all over our clothes.

How can you get your Shivaji to let you know she need to go out

I got my Shichis from a family that was giving them away. She has so much energy and all her pack is bonding with her and she has plenty of playtime. I absolutely adore her. I take her to places that have other animals and people.

Why the name Rascal? seems bit of a not good name for a dog.

Hello there, We also have a 9yr old female. She’s a Shih Tzu and Chihuahua mix. And when we got her was also petrified of everything. What we did and what I would suggest to try if you would like I’d take him for a walk in your arms, either around or down the block, or wherever as long as it is outside. And we have a yard now however when we got her and what we did this this with was the out front porch area. We blocked it off with a gate. Also now have a back area blocked off. Like a full square area. And we would work our way or start at the door area. Little by little giving treats, playing, love and affection the whole time, work our way step by step out a little further each time (sometimes we only made it to the same spot for a period of time) but always let him know he can get into your arms but also if so put him back down in the same spot. (Training treats!!!!! Are a life saver for sure, And or mini or regular broken up cookies, lol) Also after you walk him outside in your arms like the 3rd-4th time put him down at the door with the door open to go in. This way he will of course want to go in, but will have to walk a step or two or an area of such to get in. Again going a little further (within the already gated or blocked off Safe area for him) everytime you do so. And if you have pads or a set rug or turf area that he goes to the bathroom on try putting that out in that area as well. Could be after he’s already use to actually being outside or from the beginning. But that will be easier to train him to go outside. So after first time she actually went outside if when we started to train her to ring the bell (we have it hanging off doorknob to her height so she could use her nose or paws) to go to bathroom outside. Most of the time she would ring it and go a couple feet out and go pee for long period of time from holding it in so long. Now we are able to take her for a short walk whenever we want too and it definitely worked on house training her completely with the bell. My Shih Tzu/Chihuahua is 9 years old “Ron”. He has been the greatest buddy to me. He does want alot of attention but I always give it to him. Also likes to play with his toys.

I have a 9 year old Shichi named Rascal. He was badly abused in his first two years because he was with a family who didnt understand his ways. He fell many times and I finally just brought him home with me. Rascal has been such a handful and he was so afraid of everything in life. I have him to where I can hold him and play and have treats but he will never go outside. He falls tonthe ground and shivers until his teeth rattle. I dont do that now but would appreciate any tips to make him comfortable and exercise. I dont have a tonne of cash so i am on my own in this. I love him so so much and just need some tips on making him even happier.

Our puppy is 5 mo old & was so tiny when we got her at 6 wks. She has grown so much between 4-5 mo old. She is longer & taller but still only less than 5 lbs. She loves people, belly rubs, giving kisses & gnaw on you. She eats her food so fast in the morning & is ready to play for a bit. She sleeps a while in the day time but gets super wild at night before bed time.

My little ShiChi is 12 weeks old now and is very bright, knows her name, can follow a ball and bring it back to me. My other dog has not been a bit impressed with the new arrival!!!
