I have a trained , registered Kemmer Stock Mountain Cur ,Petey-Pete . Got from a childhood friend that hunts Mountain Lions and Bears … Petey had a run in with a young rattlesnake but recovered Completely and moved to 1 acre house at edge of town from my friends mountain homestead but we visit often , and he is ALSO Very good family dog letting my niece crawl all over him And taking care of my sons German shorthair and our Aussie Shepard puppies from the New Mexico Ranch , he Does love to explore and even walks along with me on fly fishing trips too . He is Four , registered in2018 But his papers have a Misprint saying he was Born in2008 so I say he is 14 lol

Thanks for your article. It meshes with everything I’ve read about MC. Our Annie is a rescue purebred. DNA gave us proof. We had never heard of the breed until we got her. She’s perfect for us even though we aren’t hunters. We are outside alot and she joins us on our walks. Also loves our 3 and 5 year olds.
