Thank you for helping me. I look forward to owning a Wolamute, though do they need a muzzle if so what would you suggest, also maybe add a part for the health, and if it’s are they pet friendly? is it a family dog? the greener the bar is, the more you don’t have to worry about it. and do NOT forget about the SHEDDING.

I was raised with a Wolf / GSD mix. We learned “pack” discipline – the dog eats last… ALWAYS eats last – if Dad got home from work at midnight, the wolf ate at 12:15. Also on food – we regularly grabbed food from our wolf’s bowl while he ate – he knew NEVER NEVER NEVER strike / kick a wolf mix (NEVER); they WILL turn and defend themselves (why are you kickin’ dogs anyway???) — instead, we were taught to raise our voice and say “NO, BAD DOG!” then firmly grab his muzzle and push it to his chest, or if he was REALLY bad, flip him on his back and grab his throat (like a dominant pack member).
— Be ready for some unusual behavior – they rarely bark at strangers until they’re mid-attack, but they howl and “talk” to their owners incessantly, males are incredibly territorial and will mark FREQUENTLY on their walk. Ours loved little dogs, but big dogs were hated rivals. Follow those relatively simple rules and they can be fantastic furry family members!

We have a Malamute/Timber Wolf Hybrid for the past ten + years. He is very protective of me, he’s my baby. We got him as a little guy from where he’d been born to a half Malamute/Timber cross and a pure Timber Wolf father. We live on a farm, and he is not tied nor penned. He spends most of his time lying on the couch outside on the covered deck. We love him! I would love to be able to keep him forever. He is a very well behaved pup. When he was a youngster he was a bit of a problem with the cattle, but with a shock collar, he got taken out of that behavior quite quickly. I would definitely get another if they could be like him.
