Description
The yearbook is called The Lens; South High School is a public school located on the south side of Columbus, Ohio at 1160 Ann Street. This is the fourth building that South High School has occupied. From 1895-1897 South High School utilized part of the Ohio Avenue Elementary School. In 1897 students were returned to the Columbus High School building at 6th & Broad Streets. The School moved into their own building in 1900 at 345 Deshler Avenue, which later became Barrett Junior High School upon the opening of the of the current building on March 31, 1924. The Barrett building named for C. S Barrett first principal of South High, closed in 2006. It reopened in 2007 as South High when the Ann Street building closed for an extensive remodeling. In 2009 the Ann Street building reopen and the Barrett building closes again for the last time as a school and is sold in 2013.
